PODIATRY - MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Brief Job Description:
Responsible for efficient set up and take of x-rays, medical trays, takes vitals. Able to explain and review accounts with patients. Answer the phone and greet patients in a professional manner, with a friendly and helpful tone of voice. Assist Doctors and other PMA's in running office efficiently and professionally. A responsible and professional employee with patients, Doctors and other staff. Is able to perform several tasks simultaneously. Keeps all patient and business information confidential.

PODIATRY - BILLING CODER

Purpose:
To handle billing, payment posting, and collections for the practice

Essential Functions:

  1. Enter charges accurately and efficiently for multiple provider and locations
  2. Post payments both manually and via an auto pay program
  3. Utilize online carrier websites and coding publications to apply applicable updates to practice procedures, as well as keep all billing procedures up to date as the market changes
  4. Working respectfully and cooperatively with management, co-workers, patients, and vendors
  5. Handle all other duties as requested

Objectives:

  1. To accurately and timely bill insurance companies and/or patients for services rendered
  2. To ensure all money owed is collected timely
  3. To maintain accurate billing records
  4. To represent the practice professionally, friendly, and in a caring manner

Measured By:

  1. Review of billing records
  2. Review of outstanding and uncollected revenue
  3. Observation from management
  4. Feedback from patients, and co-workers

Minimum Education and Experience:
A high school education with current coding certificate (CCSP or RHIT) along with 2+ years experience in medical billing.

Minimum Skills Required:

  1. Medical billing software
